Dragon Quest X speculation.

We heard about the next Dragon Quest game being on a console a while back. It was rumoured to be for the Wii.

Dragon Quest X

Published by Square-Enix, the Dragon Quest series is VERY popular in Japan. And seeing as the last console release of a Dragon Quest game was DQIV for the PS2, this was very exciting news.
Unfortunately, the rumours quickly died out and we hadn't heard anything about the game for a long time.

Until now.

A few days back, the musical composer of the DQ series, Koichi Sugiyama, "mentioned" that Dragon Quest X was on-track for a 2012 release. This information was evidently stated by someone who went to a Dragon Quest concert that Sugiyama himself attended.

We now have some concrete info as to what he exactly said, though:

- "I'm currently making Dragon Quest X's music with the aim of next year."
- he's working hard, as he'd like to finish it next year
- the 'it' he's referring to may be related to the music or the game in general

Take this information with a grain of salt, for this may all just be a rumour still. We don't have a very solid source. But, it's still exciting to think that the Wii isn't entirely dead yet, with games like Zelda, Kirby, Dragon Quest, The Last Story, Xenoblade, Earth Seeker and Pandora's Tower still hitting the console.
