In a podcast, 'The Oddcast' from 1up, a man called Variasuit speculated
that the eShop channel might be a step towards an account based system Nintendo is looking into with their
next console, i.e Wii 2. He said “with the eShop launching next
month, it will be a small glimpse into how Nintendo might work accountbased systems in the future.”
This is a perfectly good reason why Nintendo might not have wanted to release the eShop early, as it would have revealed a very big feature about the Wii 2... what are your thoughts?
